Pineapple is one of the piercers and main modification artist at Shaman Modifications. He has over 12 years professional experience. Pineapple started out as a self taught piercer and acquired apprenticeships at several places to expand his knowledge in technique and proper sterilization practice. He graduated from Kent State University with his primary focus in Cultural Anthropology, a field that allowed him to increase his knowledge in the history of body modification and its social significance to the society of that particular culture.
After graduation he moved down from North East Ohio to Austin, TX in February of 2005 and started working at Mercy Body Piercing inside Golden Apple Studios on Austin's 6th Street. Soon after he met his mentor, Bear, with whom he furthered his knowledge in the modification field. Pineapple considers Bear his most influential teacher and the source of the majority of his knowledge and expertise.
Pineapple started Shaman Body Piercing and Modifications in May of 2006 when his employer Mercy Body Piercing left Golden Apple Studios. There he met the tattoo artists he works with today along with his business partner, Justin Vickers. He remained in Golden Apple Studios until the opening of Shaman Modifications and the move in September 2007 when Pineapple and the current tattoo artists moved as a family to South Austin and started Shaman Modifications Tattoo and Body Piercing.
