Pineapple has been piercing since 2000 and is the main modification artist at Shaman Modifications. He graduated from Kent State University with a double major in Anthropology and Archaeology with a focus on the social significance of body modification in Mesoamerican cultures.
He moved to Austin in February of 2005 to work at Mercy Body Piercing inside Golden Apple Studios on 6th Street. Soon after he met his mentor, Bear, who was instrumental in furthering his knowledge of the body modification field. Pineapple considers Bear his most influential teacher and the source of the majority of his knowledge and expertise.
Pineapple started Shaman Body Piercing and Modifications in May of 2006 when his employer, Mercy Body Piercing, left Golden Apple Studios. He remained in Golden Apple Studios until September 2007 when Pineapple and award tattoo artist, Justin Vickers, moved to South Austin and started Shaman Modifications Tattoo and Body Piercing. In 2012 Justin and Pineapple moved to The Waterstreet Lofts in the growing and exciting East Cesar Chavez area where they have now expanded across two suites.
